Review: Lavish Bath Essentials Natural Care Products

Hello 🙂 Yet another find on Instagram, a homemade & handmade brand – Lavish Bath Essentials. It caught my attention majorly due to the dash of creativity in their products. Interacting with the maker, Kitu Pahooja, I learned how her artistic skills instilled this interest of combining product making and creativity to take it to a whole new level!

Here are some of her products and you can now understand why I say so 🙂

What is special about Lavish Bath Essentials?

Their special kids care range would definitely attract kids. Be it the batman soap, panda soap, donut soaps! And, Lavish Bath Essentials covers hair, skin care, bath salts and pain relief balms.

Their specialty is packaging and gifting solutions. You can get custom gift hampers done from Kitu 🙂

Why & how did I choose to try Lavish Bath essentials?

Well, when I knew her kiddo uses the skincare products, I was ready to try her creations 🙂 She uses natural and safe ingredients.

Another reason was that, it is homemade, handmade and can also be custom made for your needs.

Let us see what products I received and my take on it 🙂

1.Luxury Whipped Rose Soap

One special and most expected product that I wanted to try was the whipped soap. An intermediate of cold processed soap and body wash, this creamy buttery whipped soap performed to its standards.

How did I use?
**Tried on dry skin

It is a semi-solid soap and can be used in multiple ways. Use it as a regular soap or shaving cream or handwash cream. I used it as body soap and the buttery soap was moisturizing and nourishing to use. The fragrance soothes you and ensures a luxury bath.

I scooped out the required amount of the soap and used on wet skin. It lathered well to ensure mild cleansing and moisturizing.

Why do I prefer whipped soap?

I have dry skin and I prefer a soap variant which is like a body butter + soap. This way, my skin is ensured the necessary nourishment and doesn’t dry out. Moreover, it includes goat milk, the king of skincare ingredients for a supple skin.

SLS free soaps do not foam like market ones. That does not mean the soap does not cleanse, it rather means your skin is safe and cleansing is automatically taken care of by the ingredients 🙂

2. Watermelon Gel Face Scrub

Description and claim by Lavish Bath Essentials:

“Vitamin A present in the fruit controls oil secretion by reducing the size of skin pores. Less oil means less clogged pores, which means less acne and pimples. It is full of antioxidants such as lycopene and also vitamin C and A which helps reduce these free radicals that can slow down the signs of ageing. The consumption of Vitamin A can encourage growth of collagen and elastin cells that helps your skin stay young and supple”

My take: *Tried on dry facial skin

A gel face scrub, specially designed for sensitive skin. I’d rather say it is a cleanser with beads. A mild action cleanser. It has a fruity note and jelly-like consistency. I took a small amount of the gel and slowly massaged my face in circular motions. It doesn’t harm the sensitive facial skin and cleanses it.

It can also be used as a gel based mask and can be washed off.

Price: Rs. 200

Ingredients: Aloe Gel, Watermelon Seeds, Added Natural Color

Shelf Life of the product: 6 Months

3. Rose Charcoal Detox Soap

* Tried on dry skin

Another recent launch from Lavish, the charcoal rose series was specially recommended for detox. I tried the Charcoal Rose soap (I couldn’t resist the whipped variant, though). I tried on dry skin. I applied the soap directly on the wet skin. It lathers mildly (very mildly) and nourishes skin.

With regular use, it might help remove skin impurities

Fragrance: Mild rosy flowery note

Ingredients: Goat Milk, Coconut Oil and Rose Oil

Shelf Life of the soap: 1 year

Price: Rs. 150 for 100g

Pros of the products:

  • Handmade & Homemade
  • Safe

Cons of the products:

  • It would be more helpful if the label was more clearer and with more details (Date of Manufacture, shelf life etc.,)

Desi Réflexions Statement: A good homemade & differently handcrafted products which you can give a try and sniff to enjoy!
